HUSD Printer Support

Managed Print Services

As part of our efforts to continually improve services, your Business Services and EIT teams along with Xerox have been actively analyzing the district printing environment. One of the opportunities to increase efficiencies and services is through the implementation of Managed Print Services.  In short, this arrangement allows for EIT to augment service with Xerox Helpdesk resources.

 

Under Managed Print Services, networked laser printers’ statuses are monitored from a central location where this information triggers appropriate actions.  For example, when needed, printer toner will be automatically shipped to designee contacts at each school with information on which printer needs toner replacement.  At that point, the site can install the toner themselves or reach out to EIT for assistance.

 

In the case of a broken, jammed or otherwise malfunctioning printer,  information on how to reach out to the Xerox HelpDesk will be placed on new asset tags that will be installed on all managed devices. 

 

In an effort to identify all of the print devices at HUSD, ensuring we haven’t missed any devices currently connected to the network,  EIT and Xerox representatives will be conducting a site inventory during the final weeks of May.  Whenever possible, HUSD and Xerox staff we will be conducting these site visits to minimize any disruption to you – before or after school hours.
