Last Chance for ELA and Math Teachers to Register for June Illuminate Training.

The Illuminate DnA data management system will replace OARS as of July 1, 2017. The week of June 26-29, Illuminate trainers will be providing a 3-hour introductory professional development session to help teachers:

  • Navigate through the Illuminate DnA interface
  • Administer online (On-the Fly and Manual/Hybrid) assessments

  • Generate pre-built reports (CELDT, CAASPP)

The Illuminate training is a voluntary half-day session and organized by content area. Teachers will be paid $150 stipend for attending.

There is still availability for all sessions, but space is limited because the sessions are interactive.  To register, click on the link for your content area and preferred date/time. In order to complete the organizational detail for this training, registration links will become inactive on 5/30.

Monitor Your CAASPP Completion Rates and Statuses & File an Appeals

Now that the testing window is open and some sites have begun testing, you may want to know:

  1. How to monitor your site’s CAASPP Completion Rates
  2. How to monitor students’ CAASPP Completion Statuses
  3. How to file an Appeal if there is a security incident with a student’s test

For instruction on all three of these, please refer to this file.

Important Issue Regarding Filing STAIRS Reports

Some principals have found that no confirmation emails have been issued for STAIRS Reports they have filed. This may be due to a final step in the STAIRS Reporting process that has not been completed. If you file a STAIRS Report, there is a screen titled “Confirm Your Submission” with “View Decision” (a green button) as an option at the bottom of the screen. Clicking “View Decision” does not complete the submission. You must click “Complete Submission” on the following screen in order for the STAIRS Report to be sent and reviewed.

Complete CAST Survey After Test Administration

As testing wraps up, please remember to complete the test administrator general survey for the California Science Test (CAST) pilot. Responses gathered from this survey will assist CDE in the continuous development and improvement of the CAST. The online CAST Test Administrator Survey should be completed soon after testing. Thank you!
