School Year Programs

Family Literacy Initiative

HPN Family Literacy Leaders invite all parents of Park Elementary and Harder Elementary students to the Parent Centers to learn more about the benefits of reading aloud to their child.  We have great books for you to check out and activities to help you build your child’s vocabulary, help them grow a deeper understanding of what they read, and make connections to their community and the world around them.

Family Reading Fun Packs are available at Park Elementary and Harder Elementary Parent Centers.  Stop by to check out a Family Reading Fun Pack and learn new ways to make reading even more fun!  For more information, click on the Family Reading Fun Pack tab on the left.

Parent Centers

The Parent Centers at HPN target schools accommodate parent gatherings and support parent outreach strategies. A host of parent workshops are provided in addition to one-on-one support for families that may need assistance with referrals and services. There are also parent leadership and volunteer opportunities available. Please feel free to stop by your school's Parent Center to meet with staff and learn of the numerous opportunities and services that are available to you.
