What: Hayward Unified School District (HUSD) invites local residents to its 6th annual “Celebrating Arts in Our School and Community” event on May 14, 2022.
Join us for music, snacks, art activities, and workshops alongside friends, family, and members of the HUSD community. There will be student performances, 30 art stations, six family workshops, a family mural painting, and a number of health and wellness resources. The Hayward mobile library and Hayward Fire Department will also be at the event, offering fun activities. The first 50 families to arrive receive a wellness kit.
Why: As a Visual and Performing Arts (VAPA) District, HUSD centers and celebrates arts education as a key component of students’ learning and growth. HUSD’s Parent University is excited to hold this event in person again and share in the festivities with the community. In recognition of Mental Health Awareness Month, this event will focus on socio-emotional learning and mindfulness.
