Fall 2023 High School Bridge To College Enrollment

YEP's Bridge to College program is the only program in California -  and possibly, the nation - designed to provide college & career exploration to HUSD students beginning in the 7th grade through 12th grade.  In partnership with Chabot College, instructors provide courses, directly after school, to expand students’ college-level mindset and prepare for college-level work and instruction.

Bridge to College allows students to complete college courses while they complete middle school and high school. Courses offered every Spring and Fall. The course and books are free!

 
To participate, students must:

• Be in 9th grade to 12th grade within HUSD at the time of enrollment

• Have a GPA of 3.0 or higher

• Complete the YEP and Chabot College online application process

   BUS 12 Introduction to Business
   3 units
   Class starts: Week of September 5, 2023. Tuesdays at 4:00pm Thursdays at 3:05pm
    
2. Mt. Eden High
   Health 40 Introduction to Health Professions
   2 units
   Class starts: Week of September 5, 2023. Time: Thursdays 3:05pm plus Asynchronous Lab
    
3. Tennyson High 
   PSCN 20 The College Experience
   2 units
   Class starts: Week of September 5, 2023 Mondays at 4:00pm Wednesdays at 3:45pm
    
4. All HUSD High Schools Virtual
   Virtual: Communications 1
   Class starts: Week of September 5, 2023
   Time: TBD

• Click on your school for in-person course, click on the Virtual Course bubble for online course

• Previous/Returning Chabot Students:

  • IMPORTANT: Keep track of your CCCID and Confirmation Number

  • Apply for Fall 2023 with Chabot

    • Click "Start a New Application" and choose the current semester (Fall 2023)

•  NEW Chabot Student:

  • Video tutorial English

  • Select “Create New Account” and follow the instructions

  • IMPORTANT: Use a personal email address (not your school email), write down the password somewhere safe, and keep track of your CCCID

  • Apply for Fall 2023 with Chabot

    • Click "Start a New Application" and choose the current semester (Fall 2023)

IMPORTANT: Keep track of your OpenCCC Apply ID and Confirmation Number

After completing this step WAIT 2-5 days for your Classweb account to be activated. If you have not received your W#  within 2-7 days, follow Step 2.
 

 How to find your Student ID number (W number) via CLASS-Web

If you received your W # via your personal email, skip this step

1. Video Tutorial HERE

2. Go to CLASS-Web.

3. Enter your user ID (CCCID) this usually has 3 letters filled by 4 numbers

4. Enter your PIN (Default PIN is students birthdate in numerical format: MMDDYY).

5. Login, scroll down and click on What is my W ID?

• What you will need before you start

  • Student personal email (not HUSD email) if your student does not have a personal email feel free to use a secondary parent email

  • You will need your student W number

  • Parent/guardian First and Last name and email (different from student email)

  • Please use Maya Hernandez, alhernandez@husd.k12.ca.us, as your counselor

  • Course title and units (link tbd)

• Participant 2 is your parent/guardian

• Participant 3 is your counselor
   

• After the student completes the sections above, the form will be sent to the parent/guardian to sign.  After parent/guardian signs, please download a copy and save.

• Once both parties complete all sections, the form will go to Maya Hernandez (alhernandez@husd.k12.ca.us) for her for signature and will then be sent to Chabot.
